FUPRE-CSD Receives NUC Approval for Postgraduate Programmes

The Federal University of Petroleum Resources-Center for Sustainable Development (FUPRE-CSD) has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for its professional postgraduate programmes. Emeka Elemike, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development, announced this milestone on Monday in a statement.

“The Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), is pleased to announce the official approval and commencement of professional postgraduate programmes at the Center for Sustainable Development,” Elemike stated. This achievement, endorsed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, signifies a crucial advancement in FUPRE’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices and education.

The Center for Sustainable Development will offer a range of professional postgraduate programmes tailored to equip students and professionals with essential skills for driving sustainable initiatives across various sectors. Approved programmes include a postgraduate diploma in Sustainability Practices, master’s degrees in Sustainable Development, Community Development, Energy Transition and Sustainability, Project Management, and a Doctorate in Sustainable Development.

“We are delighted with this approval, highlighting the university’s dedication to fostering sustainable development through education and practical engagement,” remarked Mr. Elemike. These programmes are designed meticulously to address societal needs and prepare graduates for impactful careers in sustainability.

FUPRE-Center for Sustainable Development aims to become a leading research, training, and implementation hub for sustainable practices. The center plans to integrate advanced curricula with practical applications, contributing significantly to local, national, and global sustainability objectives.
