De Norsemen Kclub International (DNKI) is urging the Nigerian government to invest more in education to help kids grow into responsible citizens. Chief Chidi Anokwu, DNKI’s International President, stressed this during the 2024 Children’s Day celebration at Government Secondary School (GSS) Kantoma in Suleja, Niger state.
Anokwu emphasized the importance of children for Nigeria’s future, saying, “Without the children, we have no hope, no future for this nation. They are our hope and very important.” He called on the government to improve education funding and facilities, noting Nigeria’s lag in this area.
Mr. Oliver Ityobegh, Chairman of DNKI’s National Advisory Council (NAC), also spoke at the event, reaffirming the organization’s dedication to humanity and honor. He announced DNKI’s plans to offer scholarships, textbooks, and other educational support across its global branches. Ityobegh stressed the need to make learning easy for children and encourage parents to send them to school.
Ityobegh urged the government to ensure education is accessible for all kids. Mr. Kolawole Otepola, Chairman of DNKI’s Abuja Chapter, highlighted the educational challenges in northern Nigeria and DNKI’s commitment to help. He mentioned plans to support local security agencies by providing patrol vehicles in December.
Comrade Jegede Femi-Daniels, Convener and Director of Northern Liaison for DNKI, spoke about the organization’s mission to eradicate illiteracy in the north and expand their efforts to other regions.
DNKI, a non-governmental organization, focuses on humanitarian service and community support initiatives.
