Muhammad Idris, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education (NCAOOSCE), said the Commission is working to add western education to the Almajiri schools’ curriculum. This announcement came as NCAOOSCE celebrated Children’s Day with the theme “For Every Child, Every Right.”

In a statement, the Commission emphasized the need for all Almajiri and out-of-school children to get quality education. This aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda for renewed hope. Idris reaffirmed the commitment to ensure every child has the chance to reach their full potential.

The Commission is working hard to provide quality education for these children. They are helping state and local governments with effective education policies and working with others to address why children are out of school. They are adding western education to the Almajiri curriculum and teaching vocational skills to help these children be self-reliant. They are also working with agencies to protect the rights of these children.

Idris called on all stakeholders to join in this mission to provide every child with quality education and a brighter future.
